Avender is currently the Practice Manager for the Firm. Previously, he has been a senior immigration consultant and specialised in preparing and lodging applications for all types of leave to remain in the UK and Entry Clearance with the Home Office (UKVI) including all Point Based System (PBS) applications.  His role was crucial in advising, assisting, and preparing applications for prospective UK Employers to UKVI for Sponsorship Licence (Tier 2, 4, and Tier 5).  Further, in the past, he has also advised clients under the Point Based System in relation to all applications.

Avender has in-depth knowledge of the UK Immigration Rules, Legislation, and EU Regulations. He has also lodged appeals to the First-tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal, High Court, and Court of Appeal which included Judicial Review and Bail applications.

It is noteworthy that Avender was the caseworker in the following reported case which dealt with issues in applications related to Turkish Businessperson (Ankara Agreement):

Issues:

• The test is not whether the applicant is going to get a return on his investment but whether what is projected is likely to enable the applicant to pay the bills arising and meet his living expenses.

• In doubtful cases, an applicant’s previous experience will help inform the decision-maker whether a projected turnover is likely to be achieved, but such experience is not a pre-requisite.

Avender has been an examination manager for a well-reputed College in London for several years. He has shown his leadership skills and went on to become the practice manager in CK Solicitors. He has given immense support to the Firm since 2004. Amongst other things, he is also responsible as a Complaints Manager and complies with the regulations of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Further, he also manages the monthly Legal Aid billing of the Firm. Avender ensures the smooth running of the business and has always been a key member of CK Solicitors.
